The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.
Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
