The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Party

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, demons, and dark forces expanding in influence within the city.

Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of characters who will separate from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.

Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, desires retribution.
  • The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could assist the group reach places they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This means them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of Casimir.
